Mapapi is a musical project born in 2022 in Girona. Our music touches on different types of genres, combining pop melodies with structures, sounds, rhythms and effects that draw from country, rock, jazz and indie. This is why we prefer to define ourselves with the term Catalan alternative pop. The language of the songs is Catalan and these tell and expose stories and vital states, seeking to connect with the listener and to make their own emotions alphabetic. We touch the discomfort, the sores and the open wounds and let the most primal and virgin part come out, in order to understand how we relate to others and to ourselves. The main objective is to create buzz and channel, express and accept the mental and emotional turmoil we live with every day.

So, after having been working on the new sound and image that accompanies the project, in May 2024 we published our first EP, called CALFREDS. In addition, the live show is a very expressive, dynamic and explosive show. He plays with many different intensities and is close with the audience. There are 7 musicians on stage: a saxophonist, a keyboardist, a bassist, a drummer, two guitarists and a singer. In order to move the listener, we are also working and betting on a visual part and an innovative, emotional and vibrant staging.
